The agreement to name Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s permanent coach has been reached by Chelsea Football Club.

At the conclusion of this season, 51-year-old Pochettino will succeed Frank Lampard as the club’s manager.

After being let go by Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019, he made a comeback to the English Premier League.

Pochettino, who made 20 appearances for Argentina, joined Espanyol, where he had played more than 250 times, as a manager in January 2009.

With Chelsea sitting in 11th place in the English Premier League and having failed to win the league title this year, Pochettino has a monumental challenge ahead of him.

Chelsea is about to finalize its first January transfer by paying £8.6 million to Molde to get David Datro Fofana.

In 24 games so far this season, the 19-year-old attacker has tallied up 15 goals and contributed five further assists.

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist, predicts that Chelsea would sign Fofana in place of Armando Broja.

Graham Potter’s attacking options were severely limited after Broja suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a friendly match against Aston Villa.

Fofana, who has one year left on his contract with Molde, is almost done moving to Stamford Bridge.

Although it is rumored that personal conditions are still being discussed between the player and Blues, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano predicts that a deal will be finalized in the upcoming weeks.

With Graham Potter’s only remaining alternatives being Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Kai Havertz, the addition of Fofana is anticipated to improve the team’s offensive possibilities.
