Hasselbaink slams Chelsea star Marc Cucurella after latest defeat
Chelsea hero, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has blamed the club’s left-back, Marc Cucurella for their defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Hasselbaink claimed that Cucurella was the Blues’ poorest player on the night and that his management had issues with the former Brighton star.
The only goal of the game was scored by Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez, who both came off the bench for City. The former scored off a superb assist from the latter to give Pep Guardiola’s team a crucial victory.
English football analysts have harshly criticized the Spanish left-back for contributing to the goal.
Cucurella truly struggled against City, according to Hasselbaink, and is a significant problem for Graham Potter.
“He [Cucurella] didn’t have a really good game at all, he was the weakest link,” Hasselbaink told Sky Sports.
“The weakest link was Cucurella and Man City acknowledged that.
‘It’s a problem.”
