Chelsea has stepped up its pursuit of Enzo Fernandez, Argentina’s star for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with their most recent bid of £87 million plus three players, including winger Hakim Ziyech.
After a lackluster first half of the season, the Blues are looking to get their Premier League campaign back on track during the January transfer window.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar’s Best Young Player award winner, Fernandez, has since become Chelsea’s top target after Benfica turned down their initial proposal of £112 million.
However, the Blues persisted in their pursuit of the 21-year-old, as Portuguese publication Record reported that Chelsea’s most recent bid for Fernandez was £87 million plus three players.
The Premier League powerhouses are offering Ziyech on a long-term contract as well as teenagers David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos on loan, even if the latter star has not yet arrived.
