SALONE CEOs’ MEET

The impressive contribution of start-ups to the GDP of advanced economies today is globally acknowledged. That is the product of a knowledge society, which is driven by entrepreneurship. And entrepreneurship, according to experts, is the pursuit of opportunity without regard to resources currently controlled.

That is precisely the motivating force behind this inaugural edition of Salone CEOs’ Meet, entitled “Overcoming Business Obstacles In A Micro- And Macro-Economic Environment; The Winning Reset.” scheduled for 6th December 2019, as headline event of the maiden edition of the Personality of the Year Award, which holds  Saturday 7th December 2019 at the Freetown International Conference Centre, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The event is designed to showcase the first-time, the gathering of about five hundred Chief Executive Officers (CEOs’) across Africa, at a conference. They will form a think tank of successful African entrepreneurs and CEOs knowledgeable and willing to share their valuable experiences on how to create, innovate and improve business opportunities in Sierra Leone in particular and Africa generally.

Given that the government has the responsibility of providing a healthy and competitive fiscal environment. We enjoin all and sundry to seize this opportunity for us to make an impact and a difference in our dear country and Africa.

KADIATU KAMARA, SIERRA LEONE’S ONLY FEMALE SURFER

“After the death of my father, we were faced with several challenges including paying my school fees and my mother was faced with the difficulties of raising stipends to pay my school fees and that of my brother so, at the age of sixteen, I came around Bureh beach where I joined the Surfer club to learn the sports from the male surfers in the club; but it wasn’t a smooth sailing run for me, I recall the first time I tried to learn the sports, I drowned gulping some gallons of water, I was rescued thereafter,  my colleagues recused me”.

I stopped for a while because I was scared to death, but after some time, my passion and desire to succeed and create a legacy as the only Female surfer in my country Sierra Leone encouraged me to continue to learn the sports and over the years, I have built my self-confidence, learning lots of tricks in the sports with loads of experience and today I am glad to say that I have started sharing my experience with some kids around the vicinity.”

“I am proud to be the only Female Surfer in my country Sierra Leone and I want to leave a mark of legacy through this sports.”
