Stroke: Mr. Ibu Debunks Video Rumour About His Health

Nigerians were jolted on Thursday with stories making the round that popular Nollywood star and frontline comedian, Paul Okafor, popularly called Mr. Ibu, and had been down with stroke. Some online medium even alleged that the entertainer had died but that the family members were coy with the truth.

On Saturday, Ibu who was with his wife in the course of debunking the rumour, shared a video of the duo asking Nigerians to disbelieve the information, saying that he was hale and fine. The lovebirds were seen telling Nigerians that he was well and nothing short of lies was the rumour.

But a video editing expert, Nkem Okorie, who spoke to our correspondent after watching the video admitted that Okafor, who has starred in over 80 movies, is not well, as the actor was seen clinging onto his wife with his left hand firmly wrapped around the lady.

“Looking at the video and the way Ibu was talking, it is obvious that he is not well. Everybody knows how Ibu could have demonstrated if he were to be well. Looking at the video closely, you will notice that he was battling to talk coherently and cut the figure of an obviously sick man.

“If it is Ibu we all know, he would have just detached himself from his wife and possibly jumb around to dismiss the rumour but until the video ended, he was holding tightly to his wife,” Okorie noted.

As rightly observed by the film editor, Ibu was very blurred in his speech and was also not seen moved as the video ran out.
