Tinubu,Osibanjo and 30 million more people sign up for Zuckerberg’s Threads

Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, and Yemi Osinbajo, a former vice president, have joined the 30 million users already on Meta’s (the owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp) new network, Threads.

This comes as Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced that the business is shortly aiming for one billion users. According to Zuckerberg, Threads has 30 million users after launching on Thursday in more than 100 countries.

According to him, two million people signed up for the app in the first two hours after it launched, and five million people did so in the first four.

Reports state that reaching 10 million members took Google+ 16 days, ChatGPT 40 days, Clubhouse 347 days, Instagram 355 days, Twitter 780 days, and Facebook 852 days.

Elon Musk’s Twitter, which has faced a lot of criticism ever since the billionaire acquired it, has been the target of complaints, which led to the development of Threads. The app recently made an announcement about a tweet view cap.

When a user asked if Threads would become bigger than Twitter, Zuckerberg replied, “It’ll take some time, but I think there should be a public conservations app with 1 billion+ people on it. Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully we will.”

Europe has not yet seen the release of Threads due to worries about data privacy. It may be some time until Meta launches in Europe as a result of the harsh criticism leveled at it for its treatment of personal data.
