Jose Mourinho, the manager of Roma, has reportedly been offered more than £100 million to coach Saudi Arabia in a two-year deal, making him the highest paid manager in history, according to the Daily Mail.
The Al-Nassr club of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is interested in Mourinho, is expected to fire manager Rudi Garcia at the end of the current campaign, according to the English news outlet on Thursday.
The 60-year-old Portuguese player is currently under contract with the Serie A powerhouse through 2024. He joined Roma in 2021.
Nonetheless, there have been disagreements about transfers and disappointments with Roma’s results this year.
Mourinho has now been directly approached by “high management” to lead the Saudi Arabia national team although his future at the Italian club is still in doubt.
The agreement contains two options for Mourinho and £52 (€60m) each year, according to Corriere dello Sport.
At the conclusion of the first season, he would have the option of terminating the agreement or extending it until 2026, the year of the North American World Cup.
