IPOB claims that Ozekhome and Ejiofor were not fired

The pro-Biafran leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is still represented by the law, according to the Indigenous People of Biafra, who also made clear that Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Mike Ozekhome, SAN, are still his legal counsel.

The IPOB organization also denied rumors that Kanu’s family had fired both of his lawyers from his legal team, arguing that IPOB had hired them and Kanu’s family had no right to fire them.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, said that the rumors were being pushed by anti-Biafra forces in an effort to convince the legal team to give up on the fight to release Kanu from custody.

Powerful said, “Following the recent attacks on IPOB lead counsels, the global family, and movement of IPOB wish to debunk the fallacious and fabricated statement being peddled that our lead counsels, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, and Ifeanyi Ejiofor have been dismissed as part of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s legal representatives.

“IPOB and Kanu, who engaged these dependable legal luminaries, are very confident in their legal prowess. It’s laughable for somebody to go on social media and announce the sacking of some people he did not hire.

“Biafrans and lovers of Biafra freedom across the world should ignore the purported rumours from the so-called brothers of Kanu.

“The legal contract between IPOB/Kanu and Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and Sir Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor is still intact. They are not Kanu’s family lawyers but IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers.”

Therefore, the group urged members of its legal team to be steadfast in their pursuit of Kanu’s unconditional release from DSS detention.

“Kanu once said publicly, In this Biafra struggle, I have no brothers and no sisters except IPOB members. Therefore, any so-called brother claiming of speaking for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS dungeon is making a joke of himself. Kanu is not in detention because of his family but because of Biafran’s freedom.

“Everybody must be careful because Kanu has gone beyond Kanu’s family. He is a leader and the face of Biafra. He is a national asset for Biafrans and must be protected from wolverines and jackals.”

Nigerian security services says the IPOB has failed, seized IEDs and drone belonging to them.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), according to security services in Nigeria, have failed in their attempts to harm innocent people and do significant property damage without being confronted.

The drone and IEDs belonging to IPoB were reportedly intercepted by Nigerian security personnel. According to sources, they have also taken down IPoB’s CCTV cameras mounted on telecom poles.

“The IPoB elements have gone to the extent of importing a  deadly attack drone into the country with a view to causing maximum damage to lives and property. They bought the attack instrument but described it as a farm equipment so as to escape scrutiny but they got it wrong.

“These fellows have also mounted Closed Circuit Television cameras on telecommunication masts within their camps which are situated in undulating locations, to monitor security forces so as to be able to attack innocent persons and cause heavy damage without being countered.

“As if this anti-people action was not enough, they also  routinely ring their main camps between Anambra and Imo with explosives so as to deter anyone from getting close and preventing their nefarious activities.

“We’ve learned that the purpose of the attack drone and IED deployment was to cause the most harm possible to people and property while preventing any kind of security agency counterattack. However, despite their evil deeds, they have failed and will continue to fail.

The top official stated, “We have continued to question some of the individuals apprehended in connection with these operations, which portend significant risk to the local populace where these criminal acts are being committed.
