The well-known South African musician Costa Tsobanoglou, also known as Costa Titch, has died.
Rapper “Big Flexa” reportedly passed away on Saturday while dazzling festivalgoers at the Ultra Music Festival in Johannesburg.
The musician was seen in footage going viral on the internet falling over during a performance but continuing to sing after being lifted up by his security. He nevertheless fell again and had to be helped off the stage.
On Saturday night, late at night, South African media personality Phil Mphela confirmed the information via Twitter.
Costa Titch, RIP, Mphela tweeted. Costa Tsobanoglou, a dancer and artist who was born in Nelspruit, has passed away. He was 27.”
With singles like “Big Flexa,” “Nkalakatha,” and “Activate,” Titch was well known for his contribution to the Amapiano genre.
The rising singer most recently inked a contract with Konvict Kulture, Akon’s music label.
After his colleague Kiernan Forbes, alias AKA, was shot and killed in February, Costa’s passing is yet another devastating loss for the South African music business.
