Arda Turan, a former midfielder for Barcelona, has been appointed as the new head coach of Eyüpspor, a Turkish second-tier team.
Fatih Kulaksz, the club vice president, revealed this on Friday.
His new position is his first coaching position with the team.
He has previously played for Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Medipol Başakşehir, and Barcelona prior to his appointment.
“We signed a 1.5-year contract with Arda Turan for the position of technical director. We believe that we will achieve our goals with him,” Kulaksız said.
With 57 points and 32 weeks remaining in the season, Eyupspor is presently third in the Spor Toto 1st League.
