Argentine superstar Lionel Messi was approached by the Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal with a €400 million per year contract.
Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, reaffirmed this on Tuesday night.
He claims that Messi’s compensation on the table is worth greater than $438 million annually.
Messi is reportedly eager to continue his professional career in Europe, and Barcelona is waiting for Financial Fair Play before making a decision.
Romano said in a tweet, “Understand Al Hilal sent an official bid to Leo Messi: salary worth more than €400m/year.
“Leo’s absolute priority: continue in Europe. Barcelona, waiting on FFP to send bid and open talks.
“PSG bid, not accepted at this stage as Messi wanted sporting guarantees.”
