“We retrieved land worth trillions of naira from demolition,” according to the Kano government
Since beginning demolition efforts in various areas of the state, the Kano State Government has regained land worth trillions of naira.
Dr. Baffa Bichi, the secretary to the state government, revealed this in an interview with Politics Today on Channels TV.
Note that under the direction of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the state administration has destroyed buildings at the Daula Hotel site, the Kano Eid Ground, the Kwari and Wambai marketplaces, among other places.
The previous administration was accused of stealing land, however Abdullahi Umar Gnaduje, the former governor, later called the accusation unfounded.
Bichi said, “Somebody was claiming that N129 billion worth of structures were demolished.
“We recovered property (land) worth trillions of naira belonging to Kano State that the previous administration misappropriated to themselves and their families. The Eid ground alone is worth trillions of naira. It’s priceless.”
