Kano government urges fuel marketers to revert to the previous price.

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, encouraged petroleum marketers to restore the previous rates for petroleum products on Monday evening to ease the current suffering felt by the general populace.

The governor is aware that the marketers still had old products in stock that were intended to be sold at the prior pricing, according to a press release from the governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

“To reduce the needless hardship on the state’s citizens, the marketers should exercise some restraint and quickly reopen all filling stations, with available products in stock to sell at the former price.

“As a concerned governor, I am disheartened to see our dear people of Kano suffering as a result of an unjustifiable fuel hike, and the situation must be stopped right away,” the governor said.

According to Yusuf, Kano is the commercial center of the nation’s northern region as well as some West African nations, and its thronging population continues to profit from favorable economic conditions.

The governor advised the law-abiding citizenry of Kano State to remain calm and follow the law because the government was ready to ensure that people could go about their daily business easily.
