Adesanya’s victory against Pereira nets Drake $2.7 million.

According to the Mirror, Canadian musician Drake received $2.7 million after Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira by knockout at UFC 287 to reclaim the middleweight title.

The New Zealander, who is of Nigerian descent, regained the 185-pound title barely five months after losing it to Pereira, a fierce opponent who has twice defeated him in kickboxing.

When he bet Adesanya to win that bout, Drake lost $1.6 million, but he made up for it when he faced Pereira again.

Drake wagered $500,000 on Adesanya to win, which paid off with $885,000, and $400,000 on him to win via knockout, which paid out with a staggering $1.8 million.

Adesanya was asked about Drake’s bet after his fight, to which he said, “Shoutout to everyone that bet on me but you have to realise that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line.

“That’s the biggest parlay you can ever do. I’m a betting man too so shoutout to stake, we are about to make another deal and get more money.”
