PRESIDENT ELECT TINUBU VISITS OBA AKIOLU, VOWS NOT TO DISAPPOINT.
Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, arrived in Lagos on a private plane on Sunday and was met by a sizable gathering of party members and supporters after touching down at the Presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja.
The news comes five days after the disputed presidential election held on February 25 was declared won by the former governor of Lagos State.
With 8,794,726 votes, Tinubu defeated Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, Tayo Ayinde, the chief of staff, Femi Pedro, a former deputy governor of Lagos, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Muiz Banire, a former commissioner for the environment in Lagos, and Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, a woman leader in the state, all met Tinubu at the airport.
The president-media elect’s advisor, Tunde Rahman, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.
The delegation headed to the Oba of Lagos, Rilwanu AkioluIga-Iduganran ,’s palace shortly after Rahman’s arrival, where the ruler and traditional white cap chiefs were waiting, according to Rahman.
TInubu told the little audience assembled within the palace that he would not let them down.
He promised the people that he would work tirelessly for Nigeria and would never let them down.
He thanked God and the people for allowing him to win, while comparing the difficult and unpredictable primaries and election to a World Cup.
Akiolu responded to the president-homecoming elect’s by describing him as a unique breed “who is destined for leadership at the very top.”
Oba Saheed Elegushi, the king of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, and Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, the oniru of Iruland, were also there.

The group highlighted topics Tinubu must address as being security, food, basic infrastructure, and employment for young people.

“Don’t be a winner-takes-all President, but form a government of inclusiveness where Nigerians will have sense of belonging,” it added.
