Explosion occurs at a crude oil tapping station in Rivers, killing numerous persons.
There have been numerous reports of fatalities after an explosion at a crude oil tapping station in a Rivers State community.
Early on Friday morning, the incident took place at Rumuekpe Village in the state’s Emohua Local Government District.
According to reports, the explosion happened when one of the buses, which were carrying crude oil that had been “packed in bags” for transportation to a refinery facility, started its engine.
The explosion was said to have been started by a spark from the car’s battery head.
