“Mobile devices, photographic devices not allowed in voting booth”– INEC

Voters are not permitted to use mobile phones or any other photography equipment inside the polling booth to snap images of the party they chose to support, the Independent National Electoral Commission has cautioned.

This was announced during a news broadcast on Channels Television by Barrister Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairperson of INEC Voter Education and Publicity Committee.

He stated that anyone caught would face prosecution and go to jail.

His words were, “No one will be allowed to take his or her phone to the voting cubicle. It is prohibited.

“Officials of the ICPC, EFCC and security agencies will be on hand to monitor and ensure that the law in that respect is not violated.”
