South African rapper “AKA”, shot and killed in a restuarant
Famous South African rapper Kiernan Forbes popularly known as ‘AKA’ was shot dead in a drive-by shooting on Florida Road, Durban, South Africa, on Friday night.
It was also reported that another person, believed to be AKA’s bodyguard, was also wounded. Another yet-to-be-identified person, understood as a close friend of AKA was also shot dead.
AKA’s family also confirmed his death in a statement on Saturday morning via the deceased Instagram account.

2010 saw the release of AKA’s debut studio album, Altar Ego, and the track “Victory Lap,” which helped him acquire popularity.
His fiancée, Anele Tembe, died in a fall from the 10th floor of the five-star Pepperclub Hotel in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa, in April 2021.
AKA announced the long-awaited release date of his “Mass Country” album on social media, stating that it would occur on February 24, 2023, just hours before he was shot and killed.
