HURIWA urges the new NYSC DG to eliminate the group issuing fake certificate.
The new director-general of the National Youth Service Corps, Yushau Dogara, has been urged by the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria to take action against a group that distributes fake NYSC certificates to members of the public.
The group claimed on Thursday that it believed a syndicate was involved in the scam and that it felt the syndicate’s role in the scheme was to entice and deceive the public, especially those running for political office.
HURIWA stressed that the members of the syndicate might also be participants in the scheme when he indicated that the certificates being provided are designated as “Oluwole NYSC certifications.”
This was announced by the rights advocacy group on Thursday in Abuja.
HURIWA added that the new DG should form a committee to look into the situation and find the members of the syndicate responsible for the heinous act.
“We will be writing to the new Director General of the NYSC to task him to set up an independent panel of investigators to uncover the members of this syndicate,” the rights advocacy group said in the press conference.
