Kim Kardashian spends $200,000 at auction, purchasing Princess Diana’s Amethyst and Diamond Cross Necklace.

Kim Kardashian, a reality star and businesswoman, reportedly paid $197,000 for a famous cross necklace that was formerly owned by Princess Diana.

On Wednesday January 18, the 42-year-old purchased the treasured purple Attallah cross pendant with amethyst and diamond adornment at a Sotheby’s auction.

According to a source close to the founder of SKIMS, Kim is “honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess” and to add to her expanding collection of historical artifacts worn by “strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.”

“Diana was a woman of incredible style, beauty, and grace. Kim is honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess.”

“This beautiful cross pendant will be added to her growing collection of jewelry, all pieces that have been worn by strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.”

During a London charity dinner in October 1987, the late Princess of Wales, who frequently made headlines for her daring fashion choices before tragically dying in a car accident in 1997, notably wore the glittering accessory.

According to Vogue, Diana was friends with the owner of the enormous cross pendant, British businessman Naim Attallah. The pendant was created in 1920 by the jewelry company Garrard. The billionaire, who died in 2021, lent it to her for the occasion.

It is now in the possession of Kim, who loves buying clothing and jewelry that were previously owned by famous figures.
