Kenyans rely on Okoro to make the African basketball semifinals
At the ongoing Africa Champions Cup Women basketball tournament, Kenya Ports Authority are counting on Nigerian Ifunaya Okoro to secure a spot in the semi-finals before Thursday’s (today) quarterfinal matchup against Alexandria Sporting Club.
Okoro, a guard for the Mombasa club, has been the main source of scoring, and KPA has found a diamond in him. KPA advanced out of the group stages with the aid of her 22 points and 5.8 assists per game.
The Kenyan team has been led by Okoro, who has excelled, and they are counting on her to continue this strong performance today.
The center Madina Okot has also made a significant contribution for KPA, so the Nigerian is not the only player whose brilliance has emerged in this competition.
She has blocked shots on the defensive end while also averaging an astounding 22.8 rebounds per game.
Okoro is also improving as a scorer, averaging 9.8 points per game.
