First female Managing Director of Fidelity Ms. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Banda, others make the Outstanding African women list
Ms. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the first female managing director of Fidelity Bank Plc, made the list of 110 “Outstanding Women in Africa” for the year 2022.
The New Africa Magazine, a fervent supporter of the culture of acknowledgment for both men and women who have been influencing the vision and advancement of the African continent, published the “Outstanding Women in Africa” report.
Hon. Joyce Hilda Banda, the former president of Malawi, Hon. Jewel Howard Taylor, the vice president of Liberia, Jamila Sedqi, the first Moroccan woman to serve as a judge on the UN Administrative Tribunal, and Pastor Faith Oyedepo, the wife of the founder of Winners’ Church worldwide, are some of the other individuals chosen for the special recognition.
In a statement, the magazine’s publisher Gift Chidima Nnamoko Orairu said that in order to achieve in Africa, one required to put in more effort, commitment, and focus.
“In addition to the so many factors affecting women progress on the continent at the political and socioeconomic level; a great number of women have been silenced with violence, hate, discrimination, and isolation.
“However, these Pan African women have never been silent, and have led important revolutions for democracy, freedom and social justice.
“They have gone on to write their names on the sands of time; breaking old records and setting new standards, smashing barriers and detecting the pace.”
