The sincere love of a mother is often described as selfless and sincere because it is a bond that comes naturally through birth. And as such the loss of a mother in most cases is irreplaceable, to learn the fact that they taught us nearly everything during our cradle and yet fail to teach us how to live without them.
The above practically depicts the feelings and state of mind of the family members and the children of Late Madam Evelyn Omaku fondly referred to as “Awawu” passed away on 5thNovember 2021
Speaking during the funeral ceremony, the head of the Omaku’s clan Mr. John Omaku who could not hold his tears while expressing his grief said ” My late wife was more than a wife; she was a wife indeed. She was more of a sister than a wife because we shared things in common; In fact, behind my successes is my wife because of the series of her advice that she gave me and that helped me in so many ways in bringing up our children”.
“As a matter of fact, if I am to continue meditating on her closeness and the things we used to do together I may not have the time to end it up and that is what is etching me now seriously.”
While Reverend David Ajang Catholic bishop of Lafia Diocese who preached during the mass, held at St. Aloysius Catholic church, Doma, and Nassarawa state took his reading form the book of Mathew chapter 11 verses 25, the clergy further admonished Christians to always prepare for death by writing their Will, keep documents such as Baptism card, bank account accessible and making provisions for the burials when they are alive.
The Nigerian’s Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Mr. Henry Omaku on his part, described his late mum as an epitome of humility, noting that he will live to remember the sweet memories of his mother and the legacies she left behind; there is no doubt that this is a bereaved moment and a very difficult moment for the family but then we are consoled by the solidarity and the kind words from people that came from far and near to sympathize with us.”
“I really have nothing to say rather than to thank God because at this point in time, the population I have seen have attested that my late mother have left good legacies and that is why the crowd have spoken good of her and I pray that God will give us the strength and wisdom to emulate mama and do our best by touching lives and making positive impacts and adding value to the society.”
