Juventus Sack Maurizio Sarri After Champions League Exit

Maurizio Sarri has been axed as the coach of Juventus after the Old Ladies were knocked out of the Champions League at the round of 16 by French outfit, Lyon, on Friday.

The Italian Champions are now looking for a new manager after the sacking of Sarri.

The Italian manager joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 after resigning from Chelsea to join the Turin-based team. However, after their recent exit from the UEFA Champions League to Lyon, the Juventus board has had enough with Sarri.

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is the favorite to take over after sources claimed that Pochettino has been in talks with Juventus for over three weeks.

Alfredo Pedulla has also agreed with us, with Pochettino being the favorite saying that the talks were in progress.

Juventus fans haven’t been friendly towards Sarri for a while now after his boring style of play has been constantly criticized by them. The signings of Matthijs De Ligt, Adrien Rabiot, and Aaron Ramsey have also had torrid debut seasons for Juve with De Ligt only impressing after the restart.

Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to be angered and frustrated with the playstyle Sarri had incorporated into the club, nearly leaving for PSG in February and also looking visibly frustrated after the loss to Lyon in the Champions League.
