CAF Announces Dates For Semis, Final Of Champions League, Confed Cup
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates for the semifinals of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup respectively through a statement the continental body released on Monday.
Recall that CAF suspended all football activities, including the Champions League and Confederation Cup after the outbreak of the dreaded Coronavirus
As football is gradually returning on the continent, CAF on Monday revealed the dates for the semifinals games of the two inter-clubs competitions.
The first leg of the Champions League semi-final matches will take place on September 25 and 26 while the second leg is set to be played on 2 and 3 October respectively. However, the venue for the final will be determined based on the teams that qualify.
According to information from CAF, the finals could be held in Cairo should the two Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Zamalek make it to the final.
Wydad and Raja also making the final also means the finals will be held in Morocco but if a Moroccan advances to final along with an Egyptian side, the final will be played in a neutral ground.
The CAF Confederation Cup semi-final games will be determined by just one match and will be played on September 22 at the Complexe Sportif Mohamed V in Casablanca and the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat respectively.
The final game will be staged at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat in Morocco on 27 September.
For CAF Confederation Cup, the four teams remaining are Pyramids FC, Horoya AC, RS Berkane and Hassania Agadir
