COVID.19 CRISES SCORES A POINT AS EURO 2020 IS POSTPONED FOR NEXT SUMMER

The ravaging impact of Coronavirus outbreak across the world is gradually drawing the consciousness of everyone including UEFA governing body who expectedly canceled the commencement of Euro 2020 and rescheduled for the summer of 2021. This decision was reached in a conference involving about 55 European National Associations, each represented by their chief executives. 

However this cancellation, all seem to be a welcome idea considering the importance of adhering to the safety of lives. But the effects of a negative economic drawback to the host nations cannot be overemphasized in what looked like an innovation where we would have seen A Pan-European tournament, with 12 host cities is overwhelming taking into cognizance the number of preparations that had taken place until the sudden outbreak of the deadly virus

The confirmation came from UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, during a meeting on Tuesday backed with several videos conferences, they decided to cancel this summer’s showpiece football event.

However, soccer lovers would still have the privilege to watch matches as UEFA body want the European football season to be concluded by the end of June 2020. On one hand officials, other countries League is also working on modalities to structure how they would conclude the season.
