According to the deceased football legend Pele’s will, which also makes reference to a woman who may be Pele’s unrecognized daughter, the widow will receive thirty percent of his assets.
According to her attorney Luiz Kignel, Pele’s third and final wife, Marcia Cibele Aoki, is slated to receive his home in Guaruja, a beach resort town south of Sao Paulo, where the couple resided.
Additional possessions of Pele, who passed away in late December at age 82 following a battle with cancer, include other real estate and a stake in the Pele brand, according to Kignel, who added that a full inventory has not yet been made.
Pele’s children, including any unrecognized daughters he may have, will receive the remaining 70%.
“He indicated the possibility of the existence of another daughter, whose recognition will depend on a DNA test, which could not be carried out (on Pele) due to the pandemic and the state of his health,” said Kignel.
The woman in question, who is a Brazilian citizen, has applied for formal recognition as Pele’s daughter, claims Kignel.
According to the G1 website, a Sao Paulo court ordered Pele to take a DNA test in September 2022. It is now necessary to administer the test to one of his seven known offspring.
