Tiwa Savage, a renowned Nigerian musician, will be performing at King Charles III’s coronation.

Tiwa Savage was listed by BBC among a lineup of international performers for the coronation concert.

On May 6, King Charles III will be formally crowned at Westminster Abbey.

On Sunday, May 7, the coronation concert will take place at Windsor Castle.

As well as Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis French, Tiwa Savage will perform with other worldwide performers.

The ‘Ma lo’ crooner, who became the first female winner of the Best African Act category of the MTV Europe Music Awards, expressed her excitement about the invitation.

“It’s truly an honour to be representing Africa and the Commonwealth at such an historic event,” she said.

“ I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!”

1,300 stranded Nigerians, according to the National Association of Nigerian Students in Sudan, left Khartoum on Sunday.

This was stated in a letter dated Sunday and signed by Amal Pantami, the NANS’s Public Relations Officer.

The message did not specify whether the trapped Nigerians would travel to Port Sudan or Aswan, though.

The letter read, “This is to inform the general public that all the remaining Nigerian students have been evacuated from Khartoum today Sunday 30th April, 2023.

“There were a total of 26 buses and each bus contained about 50 people.

“We continue to ask for everyone’s prayers and we hope all the students are able to reach Nigeria safely.

“We are ever grateful for your continuous support and prayers.”
