According to the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, the results of the February 25 presidential election surprised many people who had already chosen a winner before the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, made the comment during an interview with Arise Television News.

He claimed that notwithstanding the irregularities seen during the February 25 election, it was still the most improved election in Nigerian history.

Shehu claimed in a statement he released on Monday that the Buhari administration has prepared the foundation for genuine elections to take place in the nation. He did note that INEC is in charge of handling the results’ tabulation, though.

Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, a Nigerian singer, has explained why she is wearing a view-obstructing gown to the 2023 Oscars.

Tems wore a custom white sculptural gown from Ukraine’s Lever Couture’s AW22, Leleka Couture collection.

The gown, which featured a large headpiece, drew criticism for obstructing the view of other attendees at the event.

Tems revealed behind-the-scenes details about the controversial gown in a pre-Oscars interview with Harper’s Bazzar.

The Grammy winner stated that she decided to “go all out” and “make the most” of her first Oscars appearance.

“Two years ago, I would’ve said no to this dress,” she said. “But it’s my first Oscars — I am going to go all out. I really wanted to make the most of the day. The dress is also my way of celebrating my work and the people around me, celebrating my country, and celebrating the people that are rooting for me.
