Adesanya defeats Pereira and reclaims the UFC middleweight championship.

The UFC middleweight championship was reclaimed by Israel Adesanya from Alex Pereira in the Sunday morning main event of UFC 287 at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida.

Considering that Pereira was initially attacking, the knockout was unexpected.

While Adesanya was leaning against the cage, Pereira was launching body hooks and a knee to the ribs when the opponent suddenly threw a right hook!

There was no buzzer to save Pereira this time; the next punch downed him, and he was knocked out cold after the fist. It paralyzed Pereira, just like the finish of the first round of their first bout.

Adesanya then mimicked shooting arrows at his competitor as a way to rejoice.

Pereira defeated Adesanya in a contentious points decision in their first bout, a kickboxing contest. Adesanya was in the lead during their second kickboxing battle until he was eliminated. Adesanya was in the lead again in their first MMA fight in November, but he lost in the last round.

‘The Last Stylebender’ finally defeats Pereira after seven years and four fights, and he does so in a remarkable way.
