New demands for Joao Felix are made by Atletico Madrid to Man United.

Joao Felix, a target for Manchester United, is being held out by Atletico Madrid in exchange for a £9.5 million loan fee and an obligation to buy at £70.5 million.

23-year-old Portuguese forward joined the Spanish giants back in 2019 for £113 million.

Felix is anticipated to depart the Spanish capital this month after losing Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico, to another player.

The 23-year-old has been connected with a bevy of Premier League teams, but according to The Mirror, United are presently one of the front-runners.

Following the contentious departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in December, Erik ten Hag has been looking to improve his attacking options, and Felix is still a potential target.

With a promise to pay Felix’s wages, United has made an opening loan offer of straight £3 million. Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes offered the idea to Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil, who turned it down.

The Red Devils now have till the middle of the following week to see whether they can match the Spanish club’s assessment of the player. Although United will only have 48 hours to match any offers from other clubs, it is believed that they still have first option on Felix.
