Four hospitalized after fans crash Asake’s London concert
Nigerian Afrobeats musician Asake was forced to halt his sold-out performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in the middle of it due to a large number of individuals trying to enter without tickets.
According to accounts, ticketless supporters attempted to break through the venue’s doors on Thursday night, causing the sold-out performance to end midway.
According to authorities, a collision at the south London performance venue left four individuals gravely injured and four more hospitalized.
Following indications “that a huge number of individuals were attempting to force access to the venue,” police and other emergency services were sent to the O2 Academy in Brixton at 21:35 pm (2135 GMT).
“They arrived to find a number of people with injuries believed to have been caused by crushing.
“Detectives are investigating the circumstances which led to four people sustaining critical injuries,” the Metropolitan police said.
No arrests have been made, the police noted.
“This is an extremely upsetting incident which has left four people critically ill in hospital,” Commander Ade Adelekan said.
