Passengers aboard a Thai Air Asia flight traveling from Bangkok to Phuket were taken aback when they noticed a live snake in the overhead compartment of the cabin.

The unexpected discovery prompted some passengers to quickly distance themselves from the snake-occupied area, while others opted to document the reptile’s presence using their smartphones.

A TikTok video capturing the incident, shared by the user @wannabnailssalon, has amassed over 3.4 million views since its posting.

The petite snake was observed slithering across the cabin lights inside an AirAsia Airbus A320 plane on January 13.

According to reports, a member of the cabin crew attempted to capture the snake using an empty plastic water bottle. Subsequently, the snake was successfully contained in a garbage bag with the help of a plastic bottle.

The circumstances surrounding how the snake found its way into the aircraft remain unclear.

The discovery occurred as the plane was preparing to land at Phuket airport. Following the landing, a thorough search of the plane was conducted, and reports indicate that no additional snakes were found.

On TikTok, some observers drew parallels between this incident and the Hollywood film “Snakes on a Plane,” a 2006 action thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson. The movie depicts chaos unfolding on a flight when criminals release venomous snakes, creating a perilous situation for the passengers.
